About Me

Burnt Bagel is a love letter to Melbourne’s food, wine and coffee scene, and to the quiet, everyday magic that happens in home kitchens. I’m a Melbourne-based culinary enthusiast and food has been a long-held source of magic for me. I love the rituals we build around meals and the way food can nourish us emotionally as much as physically. I’m drawn to the stories behind where our food comes from and how it becomes something transformative through care and intention. On this blog you will find reflections on Melbourne cafes, bars and restaurants. The places that I’ve found to be worth lingering in. Expect a soft spot for Victorian wines, excellent coffee and dining experiences that feel considered, grounding and expressive of place. Burnt Bagel is also where I document my own kitchen adventures. I love the magic in transforming everyday ingredients into something that feels like care on a plate. Not everything is perfect (hence the name), but it’s always made with love. This space isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about respect. Respect for food, the people who make it, and each of us, who deserve a little bit of magic in our lives.
